At the suburban school his twin daughters attend, Bruins center Dave Poulin was asked if he would participate in a charity function scheduled for Christmas time this year.

Of the five members of the Bruins organization nominated for major awards, Poulin was the only one who took home a prize. All five Bruins were runners-up in their respective categories.

"I hear something every day," said Poulin with a laugh. "A lady {on the charity committee} at school was at a meeting and said `Well, Dave Poulin said he'd help us out,' and someone else said, `Well, he's a free agent.' So she asked me what a free agent was."
