Sullivan no longer has a team, either, but he won't go away. Last week the former Patriots owner got an $11.5 million settlement from the NFL to settle a lawsuit that could probably be best described as a fraud and a lie.
Ten years ago, Bill Sullivan and his son Chuck owned the Patriots and the stadium, then known as Sullivan Stadium. They owed creditors more than $100 million, thanks to their shrewd dealings and business acumen.
The next year, [Fran] Murray told the Sullivans he was exercising his option and was part of a group from Philadelphia that was buying the team. The Sullivans told Murray to shove off.
