Next weekend, Washington College men's basketball coach Tom Finnegan could reach a milestone. When the Shoremen are host to the Wild Goose tournament, Finnegan stands an excellent chance of attaining career victory No. 300.

Between 1982 and 1990, the Shoremen went 152-59 and went to four NCAA tournaments. Finnegan's best team was the 1989-90 squad that finished third in the nation. Finnegan became the school's all-time winningest coach three seasons ago.

The other four finalists include Joanne Fortunato, a 12-year athletic director at Division II Keene State College (N.H.); Harold Menninger, who spent eight years as the athletic director at Fairfield University (Conn.); Dick Myers, who has been associate/assistant athletic director at American University for six years; and Lynne Robinson, who has been the assistant director of athletics for compliance at Mount St. Mary's for the past five years.
