Johnson, who earned the 1999 National League Cy Young Award, led the majors in innings, complete games and strikeouts last season. Johnson began his preparation for this season after his visit with Spahn in Guthrie, Okla., where Johnson received the first Warren Spahn Award given to Major League Baseball's top left-hander as selected by the Oklahoma Sports Museum.
