Classroom size up at some schools In response to the state funding cut, the Harrisburg School District raised its cap on grade K-2 classrooms from 19 students to 23, and its upper elementary rooms from 23 to 26. The state aid formula accounts for the vast majority of school funding, but schools also get money from the federal government and such local sources as speeding tickets and bank franchise taxes.
