Because of the frequent robberies at that location, police stationed an officer across the street, and an officer chased down Stead on foot. Stead confessed immediately and directed police to Walking Eagle. Because of his age at the time, Walking Eagle received a suspended prison sentence in August after pleading guilty to first-degree robbery.
