There was the two-week hike with a troop of Boy Scouts through the Bear Tooth Wilderness of Montana, and the two-week trip to Isle Royals, a national park located upon an island in the middle of Lake Superior. The opportunity I had to hike across the tundra above the Arctic Circle on Victoria Island in Canada's Northwest Territories also came to mind.
