A cabaret scene flourished at McLoone's Supper Club, The Showroom brought movies to Cookman Avenue and the Pinball Museum added some retro flair. The 94-year-old jazz man Les Paul, who died Aug. 13, was widely credited with inventing the solid-body electric guitar, an instrument that continues to play a prominent role on any stage in any club at any given moment on the Jersey Shore.
