HOLLYWOOD - [Bebe Neuwirth] is back on Stage 25 at Paramount Studios, where she filmed Cheers for nine years and where the successful spinoff Frasier films today.
"We never get tired of writing for [Lilith Sternin]," says Ken Levine, who, with partner David Isaacs, wrote many of the best Cheers and several Frasiers, including the Frasier-Lilith two-parter. "There's a special chemistry between [Frasier Crane] and Lilith. They're Tracy and Hepburn, but in need of Prozac."
It's also great for the show. Lilith's reunion with Frasier in Seattle was last season's highest rated episode of the sitcom. They ended up getting together for only one night, breaking up again the next morning. She headed back to Boston, where she's still a single mom and psychiatrist. As far as Neuwirth is concerned, Lilith is still a Cheers bar patron and pals with Rebecca (Kirstie Alley).
