THE EDITORIAL PAGE;VOICES FROM ACROSS THE USA;[Johnny Carson] bids good night to The Tonight Show Friday with clips and memories of the past 30 years. Carson became the show's host Oct. 1, 1962. He will be succeeded by Jay Leno, who begins Monday as the new Tonight Show host. USA TODAY asked readers if they have any special thoughts or memories of The Tonight Show.
There goes Johnny! I frequently watch him and I'll miss him every night. Although I like Jay Leno and think he's got his own style of humor, Johnny is an institution and a class act. My favorite shows have been with Robin Williams and Jonathan Winters.
