[J. Randy Taraborrelli] also says [Michael Jackson] tried to link up with Whitney Houston and Barbra Streisand for the I Just Can't Stop Loving You duet - but both turned him down. Now the Gloved One has turned to Madonna for his next album.

``I don't know if it'll last after she reads this,'' says Taraborrelli. Jackson was so jealous when Madonna received MTV's artist of the decade award, according to the book, he called her a ``heifer.''

``I don't think Madonna and Michael have a lot of respect for each other,'' Taraborrelli says. ``Madonna thinks Michael's a joke. Michael thinks Madonna's a tart.'' The author says he'll be surprised if the duet of the ``super-egos'' works.
