SOUTH AFRICAN TRIAL: A defendant in Winnie Mandela's kidnap and assault trial said police changed a statement she made giving her version of the night four activists were allegedly abducted. Xoliswa Falati told the Rand Supreme Court in Johannesburg that the statement presented as evidence differed from the one she gave to Soweto township police. Falati, Mandela - wife of African National Congress leader Nelson Mandela - and John Morgan are accused of abducting the four from a Soweto hostel two years ago and assaulting them in Mandela's home.
