Abstract (Document Summary)

What does a football analyst see that a typical NFL fan misses when both watch the same game on TV? To find out, USA TODAY used Gallup Applied Science's state-of-the-art eye-tracking system on NFL analyst Joe Theismann and on an average fan. As Theismann watched film of a pro game, the system filmed one of his eyes, and a computer tracked where the eye was focusing on the TV screen. A ``cursor'' mark was implanted on the film at the point where he was focusing. Later the same procedure was followed for an average viewer.
