Abstract (Document Summary)

TOUR DUPONT; Lance Armstrong, 21, is second in the Tour DuPont overall standings by virtue of his first-place finish in Monday's 100-mile Stage 5, the first mountain stage encountered by the riders in the 11-day race. He attributed the win to fellow Motorola Cycling Team members.

In cycling, hills are rated on a scale of one to four, with one being the toughest. In this stage, there were two category two hills and one category three. The twos were challenging, but since my teammates were protecting me all day, recovery wasn't as important.
