DEARBORN, Mich. -- Brian Papke stood atop a berm within Ford Motor's sprawling Rouge complex Wednesday, pointing his camera at the blackened hulk of what was once the world's biggest industrial power plant.
"This was like a second home to me," says Papke, a 26-year Ford veteran who was at work in a power plant office when an explosion ripped through the facility Monday.
More than any tragedy since the 1987 crash of a Northwest Airlines plane near Detroit Metropolitan Airport, the fire at the Rouge that killed one worker and injured 23 has gripped the Motor City.
