BETHESDA, Md. -- Marijuana appears to be effective in treating some medical conditions, but little is known about how it works. And much more research is needed, scientists told a National Institutes of Health (NIH) panel Wednesday.
The panel was convened by 10 institutes of NIH to consider what questions remain in the wake of legalization of marijuana for medical use in California and Arizona. It will report to NIH within a month.
